story of the dog, part 3: dogsim

We moesten ook wel lachen tijdens het traject.
Onderdeel was dat mijn lief, om een medische indicatie te krijgen, een wandeling met een dogsim moest maken. Dit is een metalen frame, vol software, om een geleidehond mee te simuleren. Het lijkt totaal niet op een hond, maar het schijnt wel vergelijkbaar te functioneren. De dogsim wordt bestuurd door een begeleider die achter je loopt.

Lief had hier totaal geen zin in, maar ja, wat moet dat moet. En op een zonnige donderdagochtend toen er niemand thuis was, heeft hij een wandelingetje gemaakt.

This is a metal frame, filled with with software, to simulate a guiding dog. It doesn't look like a dog at all, but they say it 'works' the same. The dogsim is being guided by a professional companion who walks just behind you.

My dear husband didn't like this part at all, but hey, what has to be done, has to be done. So, on a sunny thursdaymorning, when nobody was home, he made the walk. But since the dogsim is guided by someone else, he just absolutely refused to tell 'the dog' it had to go left ...
